Novelty: Printed Patterns

corduroys- ZARA/ shoes- Steve Madden/ blouse- Sugarlips/ sweater- H&M/ Jacket- Nordstrom/ sunglasses- H&M/ bag- Mango

Traditional with a contemporary twist has been the aesthetic to which my style has leaned on ever since I was younger. I love the tailored look but in a rather disheveled sort of way. The juxtaposition seems to be what keeps me amused. For instance I find that interesting printed pattern blouses, such as the one I'm wearing above, can bring about some novelty to the ever so lovely common uniform made up of the more traditional basics that, in this case, the Corduroys & Oxfords provide. This happens more often than usual during the winter season when its easier to layer up different pieces, allowing for patterns & colors to blend in. I must admit; however, that I do love wearing Corduroys during the winter because they are quite the classic piece to wear. And then of course I opt for the traditional oxford shoe to complete the look because, lets face it, Corduroys look best with Oxfords on, the combination being timeless.

  16. I wore quite a similar outfit to my classes the other day - corduroys and oxfords are indeed the perfect combination. I agree with what you've said about adding novelty prints to a classic look. It's a subtle yet playful touch, parfait!
